Community Outreach Coordinator
Are you passionate about connecting local nonprofits with the community? Join our volunteer team! Team Giving’s work matching volunteers with nonprofit organizations according to the time, skills, and passion they have available promotes a culture of philanthropy that supports nonprofits addressing vital needs in our community. We are always seeking more nonprofit and volunteer partners and would like a volunteer to assist us in making new connections across Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, and El Dorado Counties.
We know that there are many ways to get connected that we have not yet branched into; the Community Outreach Coordinator's volunteer duty is to identify and begin those connections. Additionally, this volunteer will assist as needed with maintaining our relationships with nonprofit partners. Duties may include:
- scheduling booths at outreach events, presentations/workshops, etc.,
- event follow-up, including scheduling meetings, data entry, sharing photos
- calling nonprofit partners to confirm our current contacts and volunteer need listings are up-to-date
Who should express interest?
This position is perfect for individuals who are well-organized, thoughtful bridge builders. Volunteers should posess or be seeking to build their communication and critical thinking skills, have a friendly, professional presentation (primarily by phone and email), and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience working with nonprofits or in community outreach is a plus, but not required.
Wha's the time commitment?
This volunteer would be expected to commit to a weekly time slot of 2-3 hours for at least 3 consecutive months, to the best of their ability. Hours available are Monday - Friday between 10am and 4pm. After 1 month of service, some work may be able to be done remotely.
