Run to Feed the Hungry: Course Monitors
Celebrate Thanksgiving Day, support runners and help Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services raise awareness about food insecurity in our community! Course Monitors are able-bodied volunteers who keep runners and walkers on course, keep vehicles off course and report emergencies. You and other monitors will spread out over the entire course to monitor turns and intersections; must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Course monitors are invited to bring a bicycle or scooter to ride out to their stations, which may be up to two miles away form the start line. Course monitors have an arrival time of 7:00am. All volunteers will assist with clean-up after all runners and walkers have passed by their assigned area. Course Monitor volunteers will assist with the clean-up effort until approximately 11:00am. Volunteers must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. There are no seated tasks available on Thanksgiving Day. After completing the volunteer sign-up form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You will also receive a reminder e-mail one week prior to the event with final details on parking, attire, arrival time and more.
