Snap the Gap

Earlier this year we received a grant to help us to create and launch a program we call Snap The Gap. UC Davis, CA Million Women Mentors and littleBits are partnering to deliver an exceptional STEM based experience to 15,000 10-12 year old girls in California that will enhance the development of a strong STEM identity, leading to increased persistence and retention in STEM. Snap the Gap is rooted in three activities – hands on experiential learning, mentorship, and expanded learning opportunities. This no cost program provides each participant a mentor, a littleBits STEM Inventor kit, and a 1 year subscription to DIY.org an online learning platform that provides hundreds of activities the participants can tackle after the formal program is complete.
